Alternative Radio site launched

The redesigned website for Alternative Radio launched today. Whew! It’s been a Herculean effort involving designers and developers and the AR staff, and today we’re live! My job has been to manage the process from information architecture through design and development, and I’ve now finally turned it over to the AR staff and to my new fave developer, Robert Piller of Piller Designs, who really helped out in the home stretch. Tim Butler of the AR staff was the brains behind the nitty-gritty database, online store and connectivity issues.

Congrats to the team at AR. Now I want you to go forth and build community with your fans using blog posts, emails, and posts to Facebook and Twitter — the usual formula.

It’s fun to browse the huge collection past of AR audios, which can be purchased as low-priced MP3 downloads or as CDs or transcripts. They explain a lot of the true meaning behind the political, economic, environmental and other crises buffeting all of us today.

Alternative Radio is a weekly syndicated program that’s broadcast by about 150 radio stations in the U.S. and beyond. Founded by Boulderite David Barsamian, it’s celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year.
